About HX News

HX News
Mission Statement

Our objective here at HX News is to deliver accurate, fact-based news, on Hong Kong politics and current affairs, bringing normally unheard voices to the fore. New thinking is needed more than ever, especially in Hong Kong, where politics is polarised, and those living in the West are only given a one-sided view of Hong Kong.

HX News emerged as a result of the Hong Kong protests and the national security law, as part of the Harbour Express family. We wanted to bring readers both sides of the story, and to hear perspectives sounded out by loud noise.

No matter where you live, it's become clear that too many people are living through too narrow a prism. There is a clear absence of neutral, fact-based media. HX News is here to fill that void as an independent, English-medium news website based in Hong Kong.

We're not aligned with any particular political party or political camp, and our journalists have a wide variety of views. Our joint interest is to make us all think again, and to counter the rise of groupthink.
